A Year Without S.o.d.a.

 I'm going a year without s.o.d.a {as in soda. I'm just trying to fail at having a cool post title}.
Or at least, trying to...

{I know, pictures of soda will not help. But I want to look at them.}

Do you think I can do it? Or do you think I'll fail miserably? If you do think I'll fail miserably, when do think I'll do it?

28 December 2012

Well, that hurts....

a short last-minute autobiography.....

''Ha ha, finally finished ya!'' I muttered, finally approving my finished Pickmonkey collage. I was now ready to prepare my Christmas post. Wondering what time it was and why there was not tasty food in front of me, I looked at the small digital clock. ''The 28th?'' I wondered quietly to myself. ''Could it be? Let's check!'' My heart racing, I went to my first post ever to see the date it was posted, certain it would be the 28th of December, 2011.
Haha, nope. Sorry. 22th of December.

I completely missed my stinkin' blog anniversary!

  Now that really hurts. And I, being young and rash, am doing the impossible. I'm moving my blog anniversary to today. The twenty-eighth. Let's celebrate, peeps.

//{Please pretend you never read any of the above and read on}//

It's my blog anniversary today! WOO-HOO! I was going to write a Christmas post, but then I realized it was my anniversary! I'm so glad I didn't miss it. :D
I {sadly} don't have all my sponsors lined up for a huge giveaway to have today like I had planned, so I'm moving the giveaway forward until I can get more sponsors. Info on that later.
Can you believe I spent most of my day cleaning my room? On this specialist of special days? My left ear lobe hurts just thinking about it {that's a weird word.... lobe}.

I'm going to go find some cake. I suggest you do so too, for celebrating purposes {that; and eating purposes. They're both good}

Lilla Rose Flexi-Clip Review

I'm feeling rather drained {it's the day after Christmas--what do you expect?} but with the thoughts of food I've put together this long over-due post.

{Before we get onto the post, here are some sales you might want to take advantage of for Lilla Rose products {today only}: %10 off of everything, free shipping on orders of $24 or more, and buy 3 get 1 free for new customers}

I received the Large Floral Design Flexi-Clip {which is on sale right now!}  from Lilla Rose to review.

I really liked the design! All over it seemed sturdy and well made. I ordered the large because I have really thick hair {not curly, but thick} but it is slightly big. I'll just wait until my hair gets longer to do pony-tails with it. ;D

Nothing! I really liked it.

It's very sturdy
It looks the same as the picture has it looking {it can be soo annoying when whatever looks different than the advertised picture}
It worked very well even while it was large.

Would I buy from Lilla Rose?
Yes, and I think I might take advantage of their sale. ;D

Star it! {one the worst and five the best}
I give it 5 stars!

Thank you so much Lilla Rose for sending me this to review!

This Flexi-clip was sent to me from Lilla Rose to review. This is a completely honest review and all thoughts are my own.

Awkward & Awesome

I love reading these, so I thought I'd do one. :D I've taken so many pictures and have a lot of them in drafts; so the pictures in here are sneak-peeks of future posts or just pictures I've saved on my computer but haven't posted {sorry for long sentence...}.

* Spinning the cart around / twirling {in Walmart} and some guy saying ''awesome twirl'', and I, dumbfounded, say ''What?!''
* My side-bangs after being pinned up {a necessary requirement for dancing}.
* Shepard looking like Frodo.
* The Life of Pie Pi. It's page 50, no action yet, and Pi hasn't died. I can't wait until I can kill one of my main characters in my book.
* Looking for a wedding dress {not for me, but for me to wear to a wedding} that is the right length and cost.
* Reading three books at the same time.
* At a Target dressing room I was changing in there was a sign saying ''PLEASE KEEP ALL UNDERGARMENTS ON WHEN TRYING ON SWIMWEAR'' and somebody wrote in pen ''I don't have any on''
* Mom and I in the car, listening to our radio station {not ours, but you know...}; and there's a lady talking about the name ''Jason'' or ''Jackson'' or whatever, and how she wanted her child to name her baby that. And my mom said ''I'm not going to pester you about names as long as it's not something queer''. And then me replying: ''I'm going to name my child Katniss Everdeen then.''

*Putting sugar on my lips and HAVING IT STICK. WOOT! {look up}
* Dancing.
* Getting something to review! That will probably be up tomorrow. :D
* Writing about the queerest things and knowing nobody will mind if I post about it on here, because I post about the queerest things all the time! :O
* Thinking about my hair. Short and layered, or pixie cut? I'm heading towards pixie, but I'm not sure about getting it done in winter.... :P {Also wanting red hair but being firmly told ''NO.''}
* Using big not often used nowadays words and waiting until somebody says: '' ________? Nobody uses that now.'' and answering: ''People with big brains do.'' BURN. ;)

The giveaway is working now! Sorry for any troubles! It ends on the 15 of Dec {2012}, so enter quick! It's the post below this one.

Real post coming later today, promise! :D

03 December 2012

In just a couple of weeks... {Plus Giveaway}

It's my one-year blogaversary! I have some great things planned, but since a sponsor hasn't replied yet I can't start all of them yet. But it's coming soon. :D

To start things off, however, the lovely Samantha from Emarie Creations is sponsoring this giveaway!

Custom Snowman Ornaments

Samantha is sponsoring a snowman ornament! Isn't it cute?! :D {you get to pick which one, and please notice that this giveaway is for ONE!}

Samantha can only ship to residents in United States of America {look at me getting all official ;)}

I will be checking entries! Don't say you did something you didn't do. Even if it was a accident, I will still have to choice a new winner {randomly}.

Since this is not a giveaway celebrating my followers, you do not have to be a follower. It's still an option to get more points, though. :)

Previous winners of giveaways hosted on this blog may enter. ;) I had stopped letting some winners enter, because they won more than once {in a row, haha}. But it's all fine now, 'cuz we got some new winners!

{THE GIVEAWAY WILL NOT BE WORKING UNTIL 12/3/12, 12:00 AM. Sorry for any inconveniences. Ah, silly Rafflecopter.}

Have fun! :D  a Rafflecopter giveaway

P.S. ''Real'' posts coming up soon and why I didn't post in a WHOLE WEEK. ;)

Ancient: Guest Post by Polka-dot

Hey everybody! I'm working hard on my ''Snow White'' {which will be featured on here once done} novel, so this post is scheduled. But that's no reason to enjoy it less!

Our guest poster today is Polka-dot. Thanks Polka-dot for guest posting!

Fall is fast approaching, and one of my favorite things to do when it is getting colder is to curl up in a corner a read a book. It is so relaxing and cozy. So, I thought what would be better than reviewing one of my favorite books! I know it by heart (Not literally, but I have read it three times) and it is a really good book.
First let me introduce myself. I am PolkaDot and if you want to check out my blog go to zebrastripeandpolkadot.blogspot.com. Before I start I will give you 2 random things about myself. 1. I love animals and 2. When I finish school I want to become a nutritionist.

Okay know you now me, onto the book! The book is called Ancient by Kyle T. Kimbrough. The whole book is about Noah. You know the guy who built the ark? Yep, that Noah. It is totally fiction with a few true facts in it. It is, like all books, a book of good and evil. But this time there was a twist. The evil people are called Watchers. And they where good at first. God, Himself, sent them to help and teach the people how to live. There where originally 200. Then 148 Watchers got lured by the world and took an evil oath which took them out from under Gods authority. That means only 52 where still willing to follow God and they all paid dearly. There where only a few that survived.  The evil Watchers wanted the Eden Scroll to lead them to the Garden on Eden  and they could eat of the tree of life. To get there the Watchers would take women from villages to bear children for them, and they would grow up to be giants. This is where the whole story starts. A girl named Lydia gets kidnapped and Noah goes on a journey with some friends to find her. On this Journey Noah meets the love of his life and gains wisdom and fighting skills.

Now I forgot to mention, Ancient is a trilogy. Ancient 1 and 2 are out and ready to read but the third one is still being written. I am waiting and I can’t wait to find out what the end it! If you want to buy the books go to amazon and look up ancient Kyle T. Kimbrough. It should be there. They are a little expensive but totally worth your money!

I love these books and the author is very imaginative and makes you feel like your in this epic book and you’re the one fighting off the giants! It would make the best movie EVER!

Thank you Maddy for having me! I had a lot of fun.

Much love to all you readers,

Tagged is the game.

Or something random like that. But anyway, I was tagged. Thanks Jenny!

You have to post 11 things about yourself,
You have to answer the questions I'll be giving you here↓
You have to try to nominate 5 people,
And lastly, You have to make up 11 questions for the people you nominate to answer, and you can't pick me!

11 10 things about me:

1. I want weapons for Christmas {because I'm the ''special'' child}
2. I am going to attempt to teach myself guitar and piano {I was taught piano when I was young but we took a long break and I forgot it. I'm going to reteach myself the notes and learn 'em.}
3. Since I don't exactly want to ask my grandparents for weapons {for Christmas} I added books and movies {I Love Lucy!} that I want, too.
4. The majority of Halloween candy I don't like.
5. I got Nikes! They are last year's whatevers, so they were on sale. :D
6. I like jogging better than walking/running. But running is creeping up on me....
7. Mirror Mirror is now my favorite movie. It's so awesomely awkwardly weird.
8. My favorite food is cucumber.
9. My eye started itching frequently a few days ago. :P
11. I don't like the number ten, so I skipped it.

The questions I was asked:

1) Composition or spiral notebooks?
Composition. Spiral are weird....
2) Peeta or Gale? {Yes, I had to ask that.}
Really? Must I answer? Because Peeta is a main character my answer immeditly goes to him, but I haven't really thought of it so it's very hard to answer. // I am the ninja of small animals in my small script//
3) Apple or pumpkin pie?
I like pumpkin pie all right.....
4) Dark chocolate or milk chocolate?
5) Soda or flavored water?
6) Winter or Fall?
7) Contacts or Glasses?
It depends if the glasses we're talking about are super cute on whoever's face, or if the contacts are colored gray.
8) Mystery or Horror books?
9) Necklaces or Bracelets?
Bracelets! I don't like wearing stuff around my neck. SOMEBODY COULD CHOKE ME!
10) Ballet or Tap Dance?
I take ballet and LOVE it, so ballet. If I took Tap it might be a different answer.
11) Orchestra or Chorus?

My questions:

What's the first thing on your wish list right now {a link or picture if possible, please}?

Favorite band?

Creepiest toy for small/young children you've seen this year {cough*cough*Monster High*cough}?

 What is your definition of modesty?

Cheese or spray-cheese {there is only one answer, young cheese-ling, choose wisely!}?

What is your favorite food?

What is the last thing you said to a stranger?

If I had those little thingy-ka-bobs at the end of my post {where you rate your current feeling, normally for me a very serious looking face but choosing a funny one} what would you rate on of my average posts? Funny? Disturbing? Somebody call this chick a doctor?

Favorite movie?

Do you play any instruments?

I tag:

Woah..... this must be serious if you're doing an AWARD

If you know me {or have awarded me before} you would know that I should be writing a NaNo novel. But Mommy..... I already have 9 word pages done {80 width, words at 24}!  I don't really do ''awards'' anymore. But since a considerable amount of people awarded me, let's do this thing. ;)

In no order, Piper, Purple Pixie, and Kara {Woah, and suddenly, a K! ;)} awarded me ze sunshine award.

1. What is your favorite Holiday Movie?
Yes, I'm crazy, but I don't like holiday movies in general. So nada. {or ''nado'' {NANDOS!}}
2. What is your favorite flower?
If pie was a flower, I would say pie just 'cuz it happens to be one of my catch-pies. {I don't really like pie, did you know that about me?!?! :O}
So it would have to be a... uh..... I forgot. Sorry. But you get to read this in this ''delicious'' blue print. So wa ha.

3. What is your favorite (non-alcoholic) drink?
Sweet ice tea, sometimes without the ice. Oh, and it must be ordered exactly like this: ''hello, I'd like a sweet iced tea without the ice''. Because it can't be hot, but it can't be cold. <Oh, the troubles of a Madeline>

4. What is your passion?
Urh, uh, pie, urh, uh, urh, uh..... I like writing. :D

5. What is your favorite time of the year?
Octobers. It's when to prepare for NaNo, the ''start'' of fall, and normally when the cold apple cinder comes out.

6. What is your favorite time of the day?
Early morning, but only if it's in spring. Because then it smells REALLY good.

7. What is your favorite physical activity?
Uh, eating. It's hard getting that dangerous fork up to your watering mouth! But running is a close second.

8. What is your favorite vacation?
Probably a Disney one. =D
I award:

Since three people awarded me, I award the first three commenters. You don't even have to follow me!

Random Updates {and a new {interesting} favorite word}dr

Favorite new word:

Buttress. Wikipedia definition:

buttress is an architectural structure built against or projecting from a wall which serves to support or reinforce the wall.[1] Buttresses are fairly common on more ancient buildings, as a means of providing support to act against the lateral (sideways) forces arising out of the roof structures that lack adequate bracing.
The term counterfort can be synonymous with Buttress,[2] and is often used when referring to dams, retaining walls and other structures holding back earth.

sweet iced tea. without the ice. {from Chick-fil-a}

Lazy. and preserving 12 chicken nuggets for three servings.

hmm, wonder what I'm doing now.... ;)

Anne of Avonlea. I SHOULD be reading Kristy's Great Idea for a book club but I have an odd rule {that I often break} never to read two books at the same time. It gets too confusing.

Happy Monday! Let's hope the ''HORRORstorm'' won't affect Halloween, for those who celebrate it.

My little elf ear is not to be forgotten! {In other words, a review}

Just notice that ''review'' part, okay?

Today I am review a lovely no piercing ear cuff from ArianrhodWolfchild.

 The listing had many colors to choose from, so I choice Peacock Blue. {not my elf ear shown}
 She added a ''captive ball'' ear cuff for free! Wasn't that nice?! My mom wanted it, so I gave it to her. She slept in it and wore it around and it DIDN'T fall off!
They came in this lovely packaging! It's teal with gold roses.

Packaging was nice and arrived promptly and undamaged
She put in a paper about how to put your ear cuff on {which I thought was very helpful.... I was having a ''brunette'' {blonde} day}
The ear cuffs were bubble-wrapped

You can't put it on without a red ear for a couple of minutes {unless you push it out to make it bigger but that would cause it to fall off easily}*

*But then again, it's only a red ear. You aren't going to die. Just put it on a few minutes before you go out in public.

I give this FIVE stars! It is wonderful!

Would I buy something from ArianrhodWolfchild?

  Absolutely! I thought she made it and sent it very well.

You guys never fail to amaze me.

I just ended the first 50 follower giveaway { but there's still one going on! Click here!}, but yet I already gained five more followers.

you guys are awesome. word.

Thank y'all all so much. And yes, I have something awesome up my sleeve for December {my 1st year blog anniversary}. You won't want to miss that.
P.S. A review is coming up later today.
P.S.S. The winner of the first 50 follower giveaway is Hannah Wright! I have contacted her. Congrats!

ArianrhodWolfchild Giveaway {50 follower giveaway!}

Fifty followers, you shall be glad you followed me with this giveaway! If you would like to sponsor another 50 follower giveaway, check out my sponsoring page.

The sponsor for this giveaway is ArianrhodWolfchild! ArianrhodWolfchild works with wire to make no piercing earrings! More about ArianrhodWolfchild:

I first started making wire jewelry when I was working as a street vendor with a booth in California. When I moved, I had to stop making jewelry and get a "regular" job. I always missed working with stones, crystals and wire, so now I am very happy to be back doing something I love.

Ear cuffs are what I most enjoy designing and making, as I love the look of multiple piercings, but I hate pain! There are just so many wonderful ways of wearing them too, that the fun goes on and on.

There is something about wire that just inspires me and it is my favourite material to work with. :)

There will be slight variations in each piece of jewelry since I make each one by hand. :)

I have another Etsy shop called Blessed Be UK which features mostly vintage jewelry.

Once again, this is her Etsy shoppe! Isn't everything beautiful? NO PAIN REQUIRED! =D

ArianrhodWolfchild is sponsoring this in any color you like {see color listings}:

No Piercing "Triple Loops" Helix Cuff Ear Cuff Handmade 1 Cuff Silver Tone or 17 Color Choices

Isn't it cute? Here are the colors you can get it in:

No Piercing "Triple Loops" Helix Cuff Ear Cuff Handmade 1 Cuff Silver Tone or 17 Color Choices

I love all those colors!

ArianrWolfchild also is letting me review one! I'll have that up as soon as possible. :)

Enter, enter, enter! But first, just a few rules:

1. This is a giveaway thanking my 50 followers. Due to that, you must be a follower to enter!

2. I do check entries, so no cheating!

3. If you have won previous giveaways of mine, please do not enter this one {I've had winners winning again!}.

4. This is an world-wide giveaway! Woo-hoo to that!

Once again, please keep in mind of what I said about being honest.

Into the forest we go, we go // HAIRCUT`! // 50 followers!

Has a creepy sound to it, doesn't it? *evil laughter*

My little minions -uh- peeps-- have been talking about some protest I'm supposedly having. Where did that come from? I assure you, I am not protesting.

With that said, let's get to the true creepiness of this post. XD

 This are my new sock-ies! I finally have pretty socks...
 I like all of these colors blended together. {The point of this picture: it was freezing cold outside and I was wearing shorts....}

Look deep into the woods child, where elves do their work best,
Where fair-children become fairies,
Where pixies grow,
Where the giants lurk,
And naughty children creep in.
 Yes- that's it! Look back to your house.
Go back in- the forest of Elvendair is no place for you
Back to home, where mommy loves you,
Back home, where your supper is waiting cold.
 Yes- get closer!
Run now, your dinner is getting colder,
Run now, the giants are creeping out,
Run now, the fairies haven't eaten for a year now,
Run now, dear child, the shadows are getting closer.

Foolish child!
Don't go any farther,
You'll slip into the giant's den,
Don't go any farther,
I see the glimmer of blue wings,
Don't go any farther,
I see the pixies waiting for their yearly meal.

This is it, I declare!
I see them getting closer,
I see them getting hungrier,
I feel them getting restless,
I feel them shrieking for dinner,
I smell the rot of giants,
I smell the despair of things long before you.
 Turn back!
Yes, that's a good child.
The path is clear,
Your choices are clear,
Die or live,
Which shall you choice?
 Ah, so the golden trees are waving to you?
They are neutral, but they always like extra dinner when they can have it,
Go closer if you wish,
You've disobeyed me many times already.
Shall I care if you are gotten?
Nay, you may make your choice.
Dear child, I fear you may have found out,
why you have no children to play with in the village.

Such a horrible poem thingy, right? I wrote it. :D I sometimes enjoy creeping myself out {I think there's a song by Green Day with lyrics like that...}.

Did you like it?

The poll showed a tie between the Carly Rae J. and the HD one, so I choose HD. That is the picture I gave to my hair-cutter/stylist.

And this is what you got?! Communication skills may not have been so keen between us.
But if it makes you happy, I can make it look like I got the CRJ one. ;)

Aww, thank you so much, guys! I love you all! Don't worry, I am planning some giveaways for y'all. Stay tuned on that. :)
