I Hope to Brighten Your Day with This.... GIVEAWAY!

Ello!
Most of y'all may not celebrate Halloween. And besides that, it's on a school day. :p

Bummer, right? Never fear! With this small setback, we take a step forward {that should be a quote. Please, somebody make that into a picture and pin it on Pinterest. I beg of you}! With this giveaway! Walk into your school on Halloween flashing those pearly whites and wearing this necklace!

Swirly lollipop necklace set for girl and doll

Some of my other favorites include:

Rainbow swirly lollipop necklace

Beaded bar necklace

Aren't they pretty?

Our sponsor for the very first necklace above is Jessie! Jessie's shop currently holds pictures with Bible verses, and cute necklaces! Seriously, I'm getting hungry just looking at them! My favorite part about the first necklace? The bow! Really, it's like putting a mustache on a lollipop necklace. And that would just be awesome.

Anyhow, enter below. I'm assuming the prize is for people who live in the U.S. only, but I'll have to check back on that. I'll post a notification if it's not. If I don't, then it's only U.S. peeps. Sorry. :(

a Rafflecopter giveaway

You may have noticed, one of the entries is ''Do ''A Week of Silence''''. What is that? Glad you asked.

Lately I've been on the computer a lot. It's hurting my head, and wasting a lot of time. Plus, I'm happier when I spend less time on the computer! So I'm challenging you. Yes, you. Can you stay off the computer for a week? I'm not saying totally off. Maybe set a time limit of 30 minutes or a hour of time you can play. Then, get off and wait until the next day.

Yes, I'll be doing it, too. Post about it, and then post when it's done. Talk about how it felt, if you feel better, whatever. I'll also post an award button for those who did it to put on their blogs. :)

If you do do it, please leave a link to this post {It will count as posting about it, another entry!} so others can learn more about it.

If you don't want enter the giveaway, but you want to do A Week of Silence, then feel free! Comment with the link. :)

Wednesday Hodgepodge

Sorry I didn't do one of these last week! I get crazy if I post too much, I'm pretty sure that was the reason.....

1. The Wednesday Hodgepodge this week falls on John Chapman's birth date.  He's more famously known as Johnny Appleseed...what's your favorite variety of apple?

Honey Crisp. They are so good, and my local Farmer's Market even had them early this year!

2.   When did you last say 'ick'?

I don't remember. I'm sure I did just for fun, but I don't really use that word.

3.   Do you think there's a generation gap?  Explain.

I had to look that up {oh, the woes of Madeline}. Searching, searching.....

Hmm... rather {horrible answer, I know}. Fast food is definitely changing the younger generation a lot. Like for example, America's Great Depression. We didn't have enough food then, so most children were pretty thin. Now, we have too much food. It changes us and the things that we have ability to do. {I'm sorry I sounded like a health-nut there. Believe me, I'm not. If I could have a Chick-Fil-A cookie whenever I wanted, I would have thousands of them.}

4.  What's on your computer screen saver?  Do you leave it alone or change it often?

Okay. So this is an odd question for me. Instead of finding a picture on the computer I could use as it, I make my own picture, and not have it fill the screen. Instead I use a pretty coral/sunset orange background. The picture? Actually, it's just some ''quotes''. If you know who says these and from where, I shall love you forever {please do take into notice I won't really ;)}. The quotes? Here they are:

No... Jimmy Protested! {This was found in a book, but said by a famous person.}

Kevin! Is it you?!

5.  If you had the attention of the entire world for two minutes, what would you say?

MAKE ME YOUR LEADER!

6.  Four fashion trends to try this fall are-brocade/jacquard (fancy printed fabrics), peplum, lace, and printed pants...which of these four would you be most likely to wear?

Printed pants. I went all out a few days ago and got {got as in Mom bought it for me ;)} red skinny jeans. Those are the first colored pants I've ever had.

7.  What can make your bad day better?

I could say cookies, ice cream, or possibly the thing that shall not be named, but so far it's Pinterest. That thing is crazy addicting.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.

Speaking of Pinterest, I've got a yummy and easy treat I've tried before and found on Pinterest:

Thx Dr. Oz: "Peanut Butter & Chocolate--This tasty duo will satisfy even the most voracious sweet tooth. Melt a bar of dark chocolate and mix it into a jar of organic peanut butter. Leave it in the fridge so that it cools and the flavors blend. When a sugar craving strikes, have a spoon. One spoonful has 4.5 grams of sugar. Compare this to your average brownie with a whopping 30 grams of sugar, & you’re well on your way to shaking your sugar habit in healthy ways you never thought possible!"

I don't care about all that ''low fat! almost sugarless!'' nada nada, but it was pretty good. :)

What is this wonderful thing called eating?

Today I found of a wonderful thing called ''eating''. Amy placed circles and stick like things in front of me and said: ''eat''. I've heard this word many times. Random people talk about this strange and marvelous thing. ''Let's eat at the mall!'' and, ''I wanna eat!''
For the first while I watched Amy eat. She placed the yellow sticks in her mouth and bit down. It was the same with those circles. I was rather scared, but I tried what Amy was doing. Those little sticks are extraordinary! The inside of it is white. It 'tis the same with the circles. Amy called them chicken nuggets.
''Eating'' makes that strange feeling inside of me go away. What is that feeling? I asked Amy but she was angry at me. She told me it was magic. Ahh. I want more magic.

Your own and very best martian,

Rover

P.S. I hope you all had fun at that party on Mars. I'm sorry I missed it. But Earth is such a wonderful thing!

[CONFESSIONS OF A MARTIAN]

I've got some giveaways planned for y'all! And this time, I have sponsors. ;)]

Awards.....

I'll admit, I've been rather lazy. I've been letting my awards pile up, and they ''came back to haunt me''! Oh, all the typing I'll have to do in this one post....

Let's start with this one first. It's called Artsy Award, and Piano Bookworm and Storyteller awarded it to me.

Anyway, so here are the rules.

Rules:

1. Normally this is where it says "thank the person who gave you the award and leave a link to their blog etc. etc." Well, you can do that if you want. I mean, if you like the award and you're glad you got it and you can do that. Or you can just copy this and have people listen to me rambling. :)

 I did that above.

2. Answer the five questions set out for you and make the next five questions for the people that you nominate.  So, if you get awarded, here are your five questions:

{Storyteller's Questions:}

1) Would you rather listen to music or make the music?

It depends.

2) If you must be forced, I always like to ask this question [just because I'm oh-so-curious] :)--anyway, so the question is, what is your favorite part about me? (I promise that's the last boring question) :P

I like your stories. WITH STRONG GIRL CHARACTERS! C'mon, the boys can't have all the fame.... :p

3) Would you rather go to the beach or the mountains?

That's like choosing favorites! So it's both.

4) Tea or coffee?

Tea if I want to feel like that stories with the bears, and the porridge..... {I drew a picture of them and when I was explaining to my friend what it was, I couldn't remember. Oh yeah. Goldilocks.} Or coffee whenever.

5) Volleyball or basketball?

Volleyball whenever, basketball only in the pool.

Now here is Piano Bookworm's questions!

#1. What sort of book do you like best?

Books with strong girl characters, and having them be adventures. No wussy girls for me. :p

#2. Have you ever been somewhere exotic? (Like the caribbean or africa or any neat place like that) And if you have, where was it?

Does Las Vegas count? {I'VE BEEN THERE BEFORE! I was too little to remember most of it, but still!}

#3. Bread & Butter, Toast, or French Toast?

Bread and Butter. Yum..... {challah bread is my favorite!}

#4. Which school subject do you like best? (If you're not in school anymore, which subject did you like best?)

I know it sounds weird, but I like spelling best.

#5. Do you like my blog?

Yes.

My questions are:

Are you homeschooled? If not, then what sort of school do you go to?
What's your favorite quote?
Are you an aunt/uncle?
How many people are in your {close} family {did you know? One of my {older} cousins once removed or something is married to Jennifer Garner's sister. I don't know who she is, but apparently she's famous}?
What's your {clothing} style?

3. OK, so usually there's a "NO TAGBACKS" rule. I'm here to say that in #3 of this award you can tag or not tag or whatever you want to do. Agreed? Agreed. ;)

4. Award five people (at the least) or as many as you like this award.

Kara@{I can't remember her blog name}
Kara {different blogger, I promise!}@Saved By Grace {sorry, I got lazy. I went from the bottom up}
Madeline May@Totally Me
Purple Pixie@The Unsocialized Homeschooler
 Britt@Encouragement for Everyday Struggles

Okay.... another award....

Storyteller also awarded me this award. Since I already got this award, I'm not going to do it. But check out her blog anyway!

If you awarded me something and do not see it up here, please tell me! I'm not trying to exclude you, I just can't remember {I was playing Apples to Apples Bible Edition with my friends and I keep winning green cards that described old people. Like old, calm, slow, saintly, and others.}

Just one more thing:

I have decided I am no longer going to do blog awards. If I am awarded with an award I really like, then I will do it. But they've lost their touch to me.

21 September 2012

The Awkward Truth

I admit, sometimes it's so easy to let flaws and mistakes slip by when you're blogging. So, because of this I decided to post:

The un-perfect-ness of my life {behind the ''scenes''}

-Breaking my plastic toy helicopter within 4 days of use {That is why I'll never fly real helicopters. Those poor future {never going to happen} passengers...}
-I can't eat spaghetti without looking like a slobbering boxer dog.
-I don't like messy rooms, but I don't don't like them enough to like them enough to clean them up.
-My left ear can officially be stated as 'INFECTED'. Sad truth, but I would have told y'all anyway.
-Most of the books my mom says you can't be counted as educated if you haven't read them I haven't read {sorry, Mom...} {such as The Chronicles of Narnia, The Lord of the Rings, and I'm betting there's some Jane Austen on that list, too}.

-I DON'T buy stuff all the time. That would be Heaven, m'dear. I am hoping on spending most , er, all some of the money I get selling my listings {NEW ONES! Here ya go: McKenna's Exclusive Outfit, pink dress, yellow dress} on some Caroline things {if I get the doll I'd spell her name Carolyn. I like it much better}.
-I have horrible nails. They aren't pretty, they aren't shaped perfectly, they are just plain ole' ugly.
-There's this one follower whom keeps following me then un-following me. It's driving me nuts {it might be two different followers.}
-MY DOG IS  A LITTLE ESCAPEE!
-I still need to write my pen pal back.
 That was it.... for now! ;)
What do you think? Do I sound just a bit more ''real'' to you?

When I go boom, I go BOOM!

I just ate three ''fun-sized'' Snickers. Does it show? I hope not. ;)
 I bought {please notice that little word {bought}. Sadly, I haven't been asked to review any products ;)} this lovely little ring from Funky Relics a few days ago. As I've been going ''all things British''; I loved this right from the start!
 It's hollow inside. I like this part of it, because most mini-tea cups aren't. I know, I'm weird, but it bothers me. :)
 {It's meant to be blurry. I'm sure you got that, but I'm throwing it out}
Wow. My fingers don't look fat in this {I'm hiding my thumb. I promise, my left hand really does have a thumb.}
I don't like bulky rings, so I was glad this one isn't.

These are little parts and details I'm too lazy to write out. ;) My little brother was throwing quarters at me while doing this.

I love it! 1-5 stars, I give it 4. It's pretty darn cute.
{all thoughts are mine, I was not asked to do this, blah blah. :)}

15 September 2012

Which Haircut?

Because of my hair growing oh so fast {I'm positive it's because of whipping my hair. Did you know? Supposedly whipping your hair about 5 minutes every day will make it grow longer. How? It'll get your blood moving to different parts of your roots.} I'm already trying to decide what cut to get when it is long. I'm going to show you a picture {possibly more than one} of a cut I'd like. You can comment OR vote on the side poll. If you feel so strongly about your vote you may even do both. ;)

Long and straight with hard cut bangs.
This was inspired by both Carly Rae Jepsen {I've got the stinkin' song stuck in my head now. I'm sorry if this happened to you, too} and Taylor Swift. PICTURE TIME:

{Carly R. J. This picture is from Google Images.}

{from Google Images}

Hard cut bangs with layered tips.
I'm not quite so fond of this one, but I decided to give this a choice, anyhow.

Layered bangs with layered tips.
 I'm not sure if this chick is famous, but I'm guessing she is.

bangs. i want these!

What do you think? Sorry this post isn't so ''real''. When my ring arrives I'll post about with some other do-das I bought at Claire's today {can't tell you why! ;)}.

I may not get the one most voted, just so you know. Also, I don't own any of these pictures.

Wednesday Hodgepodge

I just love how my blog looks, so I feel the urge to post everyday! Don't worry, I'll save you from that. ;)

1.  ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?  The NFL is back in action along with all the college teams.  Are you a fan?  Who do you root for?  If you're not a fan what do you do while the rest of America watches Saturday, Sunday, Monday night, and now Thursday night games?

I'm not a football fan. I root for the Stealers {I don't even know how to spell their name . . . is it the Steelers?}, but silently, and mentally in my head. I don't even watch their games {I know, I sound like a sad little loser. I'm sorry}.

2. What's something I'll always find in your closet?

Clothes {;)}, shoes, and bed sheets / blankets.

3. Share one of your earliest memories.

Whenever is was one of my family member's birthday, my grandmother would bring us brown bags with little gifts in them, even if it wasn't our birthday. :) She stopped doing it now, but we have grown up, after all.

4. What circus act best describes your week so far?

Whatever the circus gymnasts do. Sadly, I've never been to a circus.

5. What's a food you disliked as a child but you love now?

Green beans and zucchini. I had Farmer's Market green beans this afternoon, and they were lovely. Surprisingly, they tasted like potatoes.

6.  Describe your summer in three words.

Lazy. Boring. Energetic {I did summer ballet}

7.  Where were you on September 11, 2001? Will you do anything special to mark the day this year?

I don't know. I was JUST born then. I was probably sleeping. Or eating. Or anything other babies do.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.

I have decided I want to move to London, England, when I'm 21 {maybe older}. Okay, gals, I'm serious about this. I already have a plan to save all my money, put it in my bank account {as so I can't spend it on clothes, speaking about that, I bought a charming tea and cookie ring from Etsy today. I'll post about that when it arrives}, and then when I'm old enough go and live in the ''wild''! Doesn't it sound exciting?!

P.S. I sold my Rebecca AG doll yesterday! I shipped her today. Any time now I should have more AG listings up. :)

08 September 2012

Thanks Britt!

 The lovely Britt designed this for me . . . Isn't it lovely?! {No, I'm not quite so good a blog designer as she is }

Here are her blogs . . . check them out!

Encouragement for Everyday Struggles

Designed to Inspire

She went though everything with me, bit my bit . . .  I emailed her so much Gmail added her to my contacts! She had everything I wanted, and even told me about stuff I didn't know I wanted! Seriously, Britt's good.
What I really like is there isn't anything you have to do to get it. Only email her, and she'll do it {currently. This may change}. On one of my different blogs, somebody else did it, but it required I follow her design blog and she placed a little:

''designed by whatever. Want one too? http:whatever.www.''

{also I didn't like her design nearly as much, but it's still pretty cool . . .  makes me feel I should post more often on that blog}

I may place one of those for Britt, though. She deserves more praise on this!

P.S. Talking about designing, I worked some on this blog! Please check it out and tell me what you think!

P.P.S. If you thank Britt / rave about the design, I WILL send it to Britt . . . just a warning! ;)

Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. In your opinion, what's the most important job in the world? Oh, and parenting is a given so besides parenting, what's the most important job in the world?

Being God, but I'm not sure if that counts {random story: in my Sunday School we played this game where the teacher would stick a name from the bible {using tape} on our  backs, and we had to ask other people questions to find out what it was. Guess what mine was? God!! :)}
Anyhow, all jobs are equally important. They all link to each other in one way or another, and if we didn't have whatever job we wouldn't have a different job.

2. Share a favorite or not so favorite memory of a childhood birthday.
On my {5th?} birthday, my mom asked me where I wanted to go {this was when I was really little}, and I said the library and the grocery store {I have no idea why}. When we got to the library and were checking out our books, I told the librarian it was my birthday, and she gave me a magnate and a bracelet. Being pretty small/young, that made my day. ;)

3. Peanut butter-crunchy or smooth?
CRUNCHY!!!!

4. William Butler Yeats is credited as saying, " Happiness is neither virtue nor pleasure nor this thing nor that, but simply growth, We are happy when we're growing." Your thoughts?
I only read half of that sentence, but I'm freaking out about this new piece of knowledge. Any further talk may explode my brain. Very sorry.

 5. What's something that makes you cringe?

Text-talk. Even though I use it sometimes it KILLS me! It's like 'We went to school for a reason, people!'
6. Name a song that always puts you in a good mood?
I cannot simply name it. I must dance it! {Just kidding} I have a lot. Here are a few: Safe and Sound, by Taylor Swift, Enter Sandman, by Metallic {When my mom gave me her iPod, I started listening to her songs while I was doing something. Wow. My mom listened to heavy rock}, and a lot more!

7. The answer is yes. What's the question?
Did Madeline get her AG magazine?

8. Insert your own random thought here.

I can't wait until I get sponsors! As I get more followers, I get more excited! C'mon. I LOVE blogging, and then getting PAID for doing it.... it's awesome.

Second Random Thought:
I have a pinterest, and I read this pin that said: ''I was going to hug my new girlfriend, but then I hit the mirror''. It took me a while, too, but comment if you got it {or if you didn't - and then I will awkwardly explain}!

Read This {You'll Finally see and Realize my ''special-ness''}

A palace without hope....
Creatures humans can't bare to see anymore...
A young woman torn...

Without farther re-do, I present:

The odd Woods of Village Port

Other wise known and titled as Snow White {I'm renaming it, though}. This is the Snow White/Hunger Games I was talking about {oddly it's not very bloody or like the Hunger Games at all. I know, I'm bad at rating/sorting things :P}. No, it's only the character happens to be a very bitter poor person. Oh, and did I mention I made this to freak myself out with it's awesomeness? Oh yeah. My mind is BLOWN! {It's late, I'm tired, I'm very sorry for creeping you out.}

Want  to read the first parts? I'll give you random parts of things I like best so far:

I wake up, shivering. Was it all a bad dream? Yes, it was, my mind tells me. I settle back into the fluffy pillows, and bury myself within the swan feather down…

‘’What is your name, maiden?’’ The king asks, staring intently into my eyes . . . ‘’…’’ I cannot answer. I’m not sure why, but only a croak comes out. ‘’I will let my son decide what to call you, then,’’ the king says, and turns away.
‘’Snow,’’ he whispers, stroking at a pearl necklace. ‘’Snow White, oh my fair maiden.’’

{I know, creepy kings who'll let other people name you?! That's what I call CREEPY!!!}

The forest is a place children have been warned, many times, not to go into. The stories they tell us of the things that live in the forest are terrible, so I stop only when I can hear nothing but the panting of my breath. The commotions dies down, and I sink onto the ground, asleep.

Sadly, I can't give you more {I haven't gotten to the really creepy parts, but I have drawn pictures, which I'll show when I post more of the creepy parts.} yet, but I will as soon as possible!

Hugs and Pie,
                Madeline

Ebay Listing {for AG item{s}}

For some reason, my dad wanted me to sell one item first just to see how it goes. I'll {probably} be selling it all anyway, but...

P.S. I'll update when more items are up, but it'll have the same title.

How clever!

The birth of one of the world's rarest creatures was celebrated this week at North Korea's Pyongyang People's Zoo. The Fennec Hare is on the brink of extinction with only a handful remaining in captivity. Movingly adorable - and does look like a bunny-cat!
{It's a bunny! It's a cat! It's a bunny-cat!!}

Sorry for the pretty much pointless Pinterest post. But if you're interested.... well, look to the side. ;)
