[there's really no good name for this]

Her mouth was spread in an ''o'' shape,
like she hadn't meant to go this far.
She hadn't meant to go anywhere at all, really.
Her eyes were glazed over and you could still see the last fading effects of a fake happiness.
She had had a date later that night, one she'd never see.
She was looking forward to it. I think. I'll never know.
Often they never mean to die, they just want one more ounce of happiness.

I'm hopeful I don't need to tell you guys this, but: don't do drugs. If they don't kill you, they'll ruin your life.

Instead:

  • wear a tutu
  • have a lollipop
  • smile at 3 different strangers
  • buy a new book
[ p.s. guys, I think it's just about time for a book haul. YAS. ]

  1. That was so lovely. And yes, I agree. Life is hard, but there is so much to do in life that you'll never have the chance. :)

  2. Oh, wow! This is powerful stuff here. I really like how you worked it into a poem. And I agree-- tutus, lollipops, and books are amazing. :)
