Do you Ever Feel Like Stopping?

{inspired by this post}

.

So, I've realized... sometimes I feel like quitting blogging. Often, actually. And no, this is not my ''goodbye'' post. This is just a heart-to-heart chat; you and me.
I always felt a little bit of it, but when I read that post I just realized it.
I look around at all the big bloggers. They have so many followers, so many beautiful $500 camera pictures, so many posts, and the best designs. I can't get to that. But I can try, maybe by not using grammar in my post and pinterest pictures that don't have anything to do with the post.
But, that's not me. Yet I feel so pressured to be that way if I want to have lots of followers.

I just want to be me; have my own style of blogging. Maybe once and a while a post is dull. Maybe most of my posts are picture-less. But is that me? Yes, it is.

I'm still puzzled. Why do we all want to be the best blogger? We all started innocent, just wanting a place to record our thoughts, maybe have that special blogger friend. But it so quickly turns into a game to beat everybody else by having the most sponsors or followers.

I just don't know. What do you think?

xoxo

  1. I agree, Madi. Some people on blogger are in the race to be popular I think. Being yourself is important.

  2. Yeah, I understand sometimes wanting to quit. Right now I feel very uninspired. I like to post pics from Pinterest that I think are pretty, and I like to just post whatever I want, but sometimes I worry that people think I'm boring, or that I'm trying to be like everyone else. I dunno, I haven't quite figured out what I want to do with my blog yet, but I'm on my way. :)

    1. I like to post those pictures too, but it just seems like everybody else is doing it to me. But I guess blogging is just about being yourself. If you want to post those pictures, do it!

  3. Yes. Me and Piper have talked about this for a long time, and we're just fed up. :P I'm planning on quitting in a while. I just don't really like it. When I started, it was so much fun! I blogged how I liked, I had a design I was crazy about, and then I started seeing other blogs, with Pinterest pictures, and no caps on their letters. I started feeling discouraged, so I tried to be like them. Followers, comments, page views! It's sorta like an obsession. But anyways, I'm just feeling like it's time to close it down. :) I guess it doesn't have to be 'like that', but it really is. I'm glad someone feels the same way we do! :)

    1. I was so sad when Piper said she was leaving, but I understood. Like I said, that's what sorta inspired this post. Sometimes I wonder if just unfollowing those blogs would make me feel better about my OWN style of blogging--the only problem is I really do enjoy those blogs. -.-
      I'm so glad to hear {read?} that! Don't worry, I don't plan on quitting yet. I just felt that I need to blog about how I felt. :)

  4. Oh, lovely Madeline. :) You definitely hit the nail on the head about how I feel about blogging. And even though I'm leaving, I'll still check your blog and leave some comments. :) I don't want to forget you, you're such a great blogger!
