Wednesday Hodgepodge

I just love how my blog looks, so I feel the urge to post everyday! Don't worry, I'll save you from that. ;)

1.  ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?  The NFL is back in action along with all the college teams.  Are you a fan?  Who do you root for?  If you're not a fan what do you do while the rest of America watches Saturday, Sunday, Monday night, and now Thursday night games?


I'm not a football fan. I root for the Stealers {I don't even know how to spell their name . . . is it the Steelers?}, but silently, and mentally in my head. I don't even watch their games {I know, I sound like a sad little loser. I'm sorry}.

2. What's something I'll always find in your closet?


Clothes {;)}, shoes, and bed sheets / blankets.


3. Share one of your earliest memories.


Whenever is was one of my family member's birthday, my grandmother would bring us brown bags with little gifts in them, even if it wasn't our birthday. :) She stopped doing it now, but we have grown up, after all.

4. What circus act best describes your week so far?


Whatever the circus gymnasts do. Sadly, I've never been to a circus.

5. What's a food you disliked as a child but you love now?


Green beans and zucchini. I had Farmer's Market green beans this afternoon, and they were lovely. Surprisingly, they tasted like potatoes.

6.  Describe your summer in three words.


Lazy. Boring. Energetic {I did summer ballet}

7.  Where were you on September 11, 2001? Will you do anything special to mark the day this year?


I don't know. I was JUST born then. I was probably sleeping. Or eating. Or anything other babies do.

I have decided I want to move to London, England, when I'm 21 {maybe older}. Okay, gals, I'm serious about this. I already have a plan to save all my money, put it in my bank account {as so I can't spend it on clothes, speaking about that, I bought a charming tea and cookie ring from Etsy today. I'll post about that when it arrives}, and then when I'm old enough go and live in the ''wild''! Doesn't it sound exciting?!

P.S. I sold my Rebecca AG doll yesterday! I shipped her today. Any time now I should have more AG listings up. :)

The odd Woods of Village Port

Other wise known and titled as Snow White {I'm renaming it, though}. This is the Snow White/Hunger Games I was talking about {oddly it's not very bloody or like the Hunger Games at all. I know, I'm bad at rating/sorting things :P}. No, it's only the character happens to be a very bitter poor person. Oh, and did I mention I made this to freak myself out with it's awesomeness? Oh yeah. My mind is BLOWN! {It's late, I'm tired, I'm very sorry for creeping you out.}

Want  to read the first parts? I'll give you random parts of things I like best so far:

  

I wake up, shivering. Was it all a bad dream? Yes, it was, my mind tells me. I settle back into the fluffy pillows, and bury myself within the swan feather down… 

‘’What is your name, maiden?’’ The king asks, staring intently into my eyes . . . ‘’…’’ I cannot answer. I’m not sure why, but only a croak comes out. ‘’I will let my son decide what to call you, then,’’ the king says, and turns away.

‘’Snow,’’ he whispers, stroking at a pearl necklace. ‘’Snow White, oh my fair maiden.’’

{I know, creepy kings who'll let other people name you?! That's what I call CREEPY!!!}

The forest is a place children have been warned, many times, not to go into. The stories they tell us of the things that live in the forest are terrible, so I stop only when I can hear nothing but the panting of my breath. The commotions dies down, and I sink onto the ground, asleep.

 

Sadly, I can't give you more {I haven't gotten to the really creepy parts, but I have drawn pictures, which I'll show when I post more of the creepy parts.} yet, but I will as soon as possible!

hey you. yeah, you.

Last Saturday was the end of 6 weeks. And if you know what that means....

Then you know this..

 The package finally arrived! What was in it, you ask???

 {My ears grew bigger over the course of six weeks ;)}

 Some pearl earrings! Yes, it has been six weeks! Woot hoo! I've only tried gold earrings and these have some sort of special backs, so they won't kill my ears. I plan on going to Claire's and getting some normal, cute {cheap!} earrings, and testing them out. They also gave me coupons {when I got my ears pierced-- got to Claire's!}, so that's a bonus! :)

P.S. Update on the little boy:
He's okay. He tends to make chocolate out of honey {a.k.a. drama queen}, so I should of noticed. The guilt has vanished. I put his arm holder thingy on {he took it off} and declared I was ''injured. Give me a cookie,''. BTW, I didn't get a cookie. :P

What's your favorite ice cream, or ice cream company?
Mine is Ben&Jerry's, for sure! :D
I'm in LOVE with Bonnard's {I might be misspelling that :p} Buzz, and that's why I was so happy when I found the Ben and Jerry's ice cream lip balm! I think it might be a B and J store only sort of thing, though. I looked and looked for B's Buzz, but I couldn't find it! So thus, I got....:

 Chocolate Fudge Brownie! Picture time! :D

 It's a very very light brown. I was rather surprised, in fact.
It doesn't taste like the ice cream, but it smells like it.

 It's filled to where my finger nail is. So in other words, it's a lot of lip balm {but a girl can never have too many!}.

I started school today. :p I took a math test {thankfully I didn't flunk}, and later {after lunch} I'll probably start Tapestry of Grace {it's a Christian history reading/writing thingy} after lunch.
Because of school, I'll be posting less often.

 1. Why did you start blogging? For those awesome people who know, Slipping Through My Fingers was originally The Doll World {the URL was a mistake :p}. I showed my passion for my dolls, but I always felt it was restricting. I couldn't post any ''life'' posts. On my 6 months anniversary, I announced I was changing it.
2. Do you like head phones or ear buds better? Head phones.
3. Do you play an instrument? I PLAYED piano, and I'm learning guitar.
4. Are you learning a foreign language? I know a little French, and I'm trying to teach myself more.
5. Do you enjoy math? NO.
6. Do you like singing? Yes. I happen to think I should be on a show called Madeline Got Talent...
7. What are you looking at right now? A floating pie named Bob. {A.K.A., the computer screen :)}
8. Do you drink out of a cup, the faucet, a disposable water bottle, an aluminum water bottle, a plastic water bottle, or something else (if so, what?)? All of these. The faucet is the most fun. XD

Soup The Day!

Believe me, I laughed at myself, too!

 While I was enjoying my soup, I realized fall and winter are coming on fast. Also known as the soup seasons {yeah, I did make that up.}.
I love trying different soups, and finding my favorites for The Soup Seasons {I don't really have any...}. Thus, I bring to you...

Soup The Day!

Every month or week {I haven't decided yet} I'll try another soup. Sometimes they'll be homemade, sometimes bought. I'll rate it, saving you the trouble of trying it out {and perhaps not liking it} without knowing. 

THE SOUP BRAND: Progresso

SOUP NAME: Chicken Cheese Enchilada

WHAT'S IN IT {MAIN}: Chicken broth, cooked white chicken meat, tomatoes, celery, onions, cream cheese. 

WHAT I SUGGEST WITH IT: I had tortilla chips with it. Any Mexican side dish should be good, too.

HOW I HEATED IT: I used a microwave. I would suggest using a stove, though, because I like meat that feels cooked.

THOUGHTS: The soup was very thin {I like thicker, almost stew-like soups}. The chicken flavor wasn't strong at all.

RATE: I give it 2 stars. It was OK, but I wouldn't have it again.

So, I had to skip Link Love because of promising not post. I'm really not up to the mood of adding two Link Loves together... actually, I'm really never in the mood. It's sorta becoming a chore. It was fun, the idea is awesome, but I'm not up to it. After blogging my little heart out in July I'm taking a break {a Link Love break}. So next Friday will be the last one! Blog Party

I'm such a horrible person {not really--I say that but I don't mean it}. Did I say I wouldn't post? I don't believe you. ;D But, I have been much better. I'm not perfect.

1.  What is your favorite fairy tale and why?
I like Rapunzel just because I like the idea of super long hair, with which you can do anything with. You could tie somebody to a tree and practically go anywhere you want without your hair tugging on you.
2.  List your 4 favorite fairy tale heroes or heroines and why you like them.
1. Belle- because she loves books, and she's just so... pure. 
2. Rapunzel- because she's awesome and care-free. 
3. Beast- because looks are deceiving. Belle knew he was ugly (well, he wasn't really ugly. When they turned him into a prince he was uglier. :p {way to go Disney. The handsome prince is uglier than the beast}), but she loved him anyway. Then when he turned into a prince it was 'the best of both worlds'. ;D 
4. Eugene- because of his funny sarcasm. 

{Rapunzel- ''Something brought you here. Fate, destiny...'' Eugene- ''A horse.''}
3.  Who in your opinion is the most threatening fairy tale villain?
The Snow Queen {or witch-I forget.} from Narnia. Offering you jelly donuts and then BAM! She kidnaps you AND eats your doughnut. Now that, my friend, is what I call evil. ;)
4.  If applicable, share something about a favorite fairy tale book you had as a child.  What made it so special?
Sorry, can't answer this one.... I wasn't in the 'pretty pretty princess' stage for a long time.

5.  In your opinion, what makes a good fairy tale?
Grammar, writing- I'm quite picky. Also characters. Oh, and I HATE short sentences. {I don't like Artemis Fowle. He's all like- ''Eat. That. Jelly. Doughnut. Or. I. Will. Explode. You. To. High. Heaven.}
6.  Who is your favorite fairy tale illustrator?
Like I said above, I wasn't in the pretty pretty princess stage long enough to get a favorite.
7.  What is your favorite re-telling of a classic fairy tale and why?
Can't answer that. I think a modern one would be my favorite. I have yet to find out...
8.  Which fairy tale character is the most like you?  
Belle- we're both book worms, and I looked a lot like her before I got my hair cut.
9.  If you could choose to be any fairy tale character, who would you be and why?
I'd have to wait and read all the fairy tale books, and find the most awesome one. Because the most awesome would have the most super awesome powers, right?? {Yes, this is how I do logic. ;p}
10.  If you could have one wish, what would it be?
          a.  that a fairy godmother would come along, give you a dazzling outfit and shoes, and whisk you away to a royal ball
          b.  that you could fly
          c.  that you would discover an enchanted world outside of our own
          d.  that you would be able to go on a grand adventure
Either C. or B.  C would be like Narnia. And of course, everybody's had dreams of flying.
11.  If you could find out anything about your favorite fairy tale character outside of the pages of his/her story, what would you want to know?       
How they always look good, even waist deep in mud. :p
