Wednesday Hodgepodge

I just love how my blog looks, so I feel the urge to post everyday! Don't worry, I'll save you from that. ;)

1.  ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?  The NFL is back in action along with all the college teams.  Are you a fan?  Who do you root for?  If you're not a fan what do you do while the rest of America watches Saturday, Sunday, Monday night, and now Thursday night games?


I'm not a football fan. I root for the Stealers {I don't even know how to spell their name . . . is it the Steelers?}, but silently, and mentally in my head. I don't even watch their games {I know, I sound like a sad little loser. I'm sorry}.

2. What's something I'll always find in your closet?


Clothes {;)}, shoes, and bed sheets / blankets.


3. Share one of your earliest memories.


Whenever is was one of my family member's birthday, my grandmother would bring us brown bags with little gifts in them, even if it wasn't our birthday. :) She stopped doing it now, but we have grown up, after all.

4. What circus act best describes your week so far?


Whatever the circus gymnasts do. Sadly, I've never been to a circus.

5. What's a food you disliked as a child but you love now?


Green beans and zucchini. I had Farmer's Market green beans this afternoon, and they were lovely. Surprisingly, they tasted like potatoes.

6.  Describe your summer in three words.


Lazy. Boring. Energetic {I did summer ballet}

7.  Where were you on September 11, 2001? Will you do anything special to mark the day this year?


I don't know. I was JUST born then. I was probably sleeping. Or eating. Or anything other babies do.

I have decided I want to move to London, England, when I'm 21 {maybe older}. Okay, gals, I'm serious about this. I already have a plan to save all my money, put it in my bank account {as so I can't spend it on clothes, speaking about that, I bought a charming tea and cookie ring from Etsy today. I'll post about that when it arrives}, and then when I'm old enough go and live in the ''wild''! Doesn't it sound exciting?!

P.S. I sold my Rebecca AG doll yesterday! I shipped her today. Any time now I should have more AG listings up. :)

In Honor of my 50th Post....

I have decided to show you some more of Katie's ''Trip-around-the-World'' classes! By now some of the other girls have joined...Kanani and Rebecca. And you never know...you may learn something too!
Trip Around the World class: Hawaii
''Hello girls!'' Cheerfully said the Trip Around The World teacher, Miss Susan. ''Hello Miss Susan,'' answered all the girls. ''Today we are learning about Hawaii,'' said Miss Susan. ''Are we going to eat shark?'' Lilly asked. Miss Susan laughed. ''Maybe another time, Lilly,'' she said. ''But,'' she added, ''I did bring a shaved ice machine. Unlike snow cones, shaved ice is more powdery. I have three flavors, Cherry, Root beer, and Lime, after class I will hand them out.''
Miss Susan reached in her yellow tote for the U.S.A. map. She took a ruler from somewhere else in her bag and pointed to Hawaii. ''Can anybody tell me what is the capital of Hawaii?'' Miss Susan asked. There were lots of answers, ''I know! I know!''; and only one girl silently raised her hand. ''Kanani, as you seem to not be screaming, you may answer,'' Miss Susan said. Kanani answered, her face rather pale with worry. Am I right? She wondered. ''Correct!'' Miss Susan announced. Kanani sighed with relief. ''Allright girls, please right this down on your note pads;'' Miss Susan wrote on the black-board. Molly wrote down,
Hawaii is not touching America, because it, also like Alaska, is in the ocean. Many people travel to Hawaii for celebrations, because it is known for wonderful surfing as well as food. Hawaii goes by island time. Common items in Hawaii:
Sunscreen, surfboards, swimsuits, water, shaved ice, swimming lessons shacks, and more.

''Very good, girls. Remember, I'll quiz you on some of these!" Miss Susan said.

A Bit About Me!

Hi,
I'm Katie! Christmas is coming up, and I'm sooo excited! First of all, if you going to read my blog, you should know about me. I have seven friends, Rosy, Luke, Felicity, Samantha, Rebecca, Molly, and Kanani! Rebecca and Kanani are the only ones adopted from not around here. Rebecca's Russian, and Kanani is from Hawaii. But then all the rest are from good old VA. 



See that's me! Those are the clothes I came in. It's hard to see, but I'll give you the info.
~I have carmel-colored hair. ~Light blue eyes. ~Lightly tanned skin.
Not much, but I'm alright. Today my 'Round the World class is ''going'' to Russia. I brought Rebecca along also, because I knew she'd enjoy it! Rebecca even let me borrow some ''old time'' Russian clothes for a thank you! Sweet!

First of all, we all said the pledge the the American Flag. Then we said the 'Round the World pledge. That's my favorite part of the class! Then we started learning about Russia. Did you know, a long time ago Jews ran away from Russia to America? Our teacher, Ms. Mokly, told us all about it, and when they got to America, how they lived like then. It was really cool learning about it. Did you know, they also bargained with people selling stuff on the street? A penny back then could get you two bananas! Ms. Mokly showed us a photo of it. Let me show you!
 
Isn't it cool? It a picture of tenements. That's where most people lived, though it was very bad for you. Since there was normal only one room per family, sickness was spread easily. Mom was there too, and she told me how lucky we are to live in our own house. I believe her! Well, I got to go. Bye!
